The 17-year-old arrested on charges of killing the young footballer Holy Roman a San Sebastiano al Vesuvio, confessed to the crime during questioning. After initially trying to deny his involvement, faced with overwhelming evidence gathered by investigators, the young man admitted to firing the fatal shot.
But he also said that he did it to defend himself. This does not match any of the testimonies collected by the police. In the meantime, the search for the murder weapon is still underway. The boy did not provide any explanations on this.
The investigations, conducted by the Carabinieri of the Torre del Greco company, made use of various evidentiary sources. The images recorded by the video surveillance cameras present in the area of the crime were crucial to reconstruct the dynamics of the attack.
The footage clearly shows a small car speeding away from the crime scene shortly after the shots were fired. Thanks to meticulous analysis, investigators were able to identify the vehicle and trace its driver, the 17-year-old who was later arrested.
The testimonies collected among the residents of the area were consistent, confirming the central role of the young man in the murder. Some witnesses reported seeing him directly at the crime scene, while others spotted him while he was fleeing on board his car.
A key element in the arrest was the discovery of the minicar used by the young man to escape. The vehicle was already known to the police, as it had been checked the evening before the murder. On that occasion, the driver had been found to be none other than 17enne, already known for previous criminal convictions and recently released from the juvenile prison in Nisida.
