The alleged hit-and-run driver who allegedly hit and killed a man of Ukrainian origins along the Domiziana road, in the Varcaturo area, last night, and then fled without providing assistance, has been identified and questioned.
The individual was reportedly tracked down by officers from the Giugliano police station who, in the early afternoon yesterday, took him to the police station for questioning. The police are examining the images from the surveillance cameras in the area: the stretch of the Domiziana is in fact well monitored, and by checking the license plates the officers were able to quickly trace the alleged perpetrator.
Some motorists have spotted the corpse and alerted 118. The paramedics, who arrived on the scene, could only confirm the death: the victim was lying on the ground, with his face on the edge of the road and a wound on the back of his neck from which blood was coming out.
