From 10 to 12 December, King Felipe VI of Spain and Queen Letizia will be in Italy for a state visit at the invitation of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella. The announcement comes directly from the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which underlined the importance of the event as a testimony to the excellent relations between the two countries, linked by a long historical and cultural tradition.
"This visit represents an opportunity to further consolidate the deep historical, political, cultural and human ties that unite the Italian Republic and the Kingdom of Spain," reads the official statement from Madrid. During their stay, the Spanish sovereigns will meet with President Mattarella to discuss bilateral relations and prospects for future cooperation.
In addition, a meeting with the Spanish community residing in Italy is planned at the Spanish Embassy in Rome, a significant moment to strengthen relations with compatriots abroad. The visit will end in Napoli, where Felipe VI and Letizia will participate in a series of cultural events, symbolizing the strong historical bond that unites Spain to the capital of Campania, which has always been a crossroads of influences and exchanges between the two countries.
