Giuseppe Liccardi, 58, a fugitive since November 4th after an arrest warrant issued by the Court of Appeal of Catanzaro, was arrested by the Carabinieri in the Stella neighborhood. The man, who was serving a year in prison for drug possession and dealing, had been declared untraceable until the military raid.
Liccardi was intercepted while driving along Vico Fondaco Cavaiole. During a thorough search, the Carabinieri found 2.735 euros in cash and a smartphone in the engine compartment of his car, hidden under the air filter box. The checks then moved to his home, where the military made another discovery: behind an armored door, they found some doses of hashish and cocaine, a knife soaked in the narcotic substance and material useful for packaging the drug.
The operation marks a major breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking in the area and puts an end to the escape of Liccardi, already known to law enforcement for previous drug dealing convictions. The 58-year-old was taken to prison and the seized material will be made available to the judicial authorities.

It's amazing how some people can think they can get away with it for so long. Liccardi's news shows that law enforcement is working well, but there are still many problems to address in drug trafficking.
I don't understand how a person can remain at large for so long without being found, especially with all the controls that are in place today. The strange thing is that he had so much money and drugs in the car, that he seemed prepared to escape. Let's hope that this operation helps reduce drug trafficking in the area.
