Statue of San Ciro stolen from Vomero found: 54-year-old reported

The Carabinieri of the Operational Nucleus and the Vomero Arenella station reported a 54-year-old from Soccavo for the theft of the statue of San Ciro, which was kept in a votive shrine in Via Stanzione.

The theft occurred during the night between October 25th and 26th.

After receiving the complaint, the officers analyzed video surveillance footage from the area and images captured by license plate readers along the roads the thief traveled.

Once his place of residence was identified, the Carabinieri reached and arrested the 54-year-old. The statuette was returned by the man and subsequently returned to its original location.
