The Guardia di Finanza Group of Torre Annunziata has executed a preventive seizure order for an equivalent value of 124.794,05 euros. The order, issued by the Judge for Preliminary Investigations of the Court of Torre Annunziata at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office, concerns two spouses from Castellammare di Stabia, investigated in competition for aggravated fraud aimed at obtaining undue public funds (art. 640-bis cp).
The investigation, launched by the Guardia di Finanza Company of Castellammare di Stabia, brought to light a fraud scheme that lasted almost 20 years. The man, in fact, had unduly received a pension for absolute blindness and an accompanying allowance, despite being alone. visually impaired and not totally blind.
The financial police documented, through videos, how the suspect led a normal life and without the need for assistance. The images portray him crossing busy streets, carrying shopping bags and inserting keys into the lock without any difficulty. Furthermore, during a tax inspection, the man signed a report without showing any vision problems.
According to the authorities, the suspect would have received a monthly amount of 713 euros for a total of 124.794,05 euros in the last 15 years, using part of these funds to pay off the mortgage taken out by his wife to purchase the house where they both live.
The seizure involved bank accounts and the property owned by the couple, placing a legal lien on the assets attributable to the suspects. The operation represents a further step in the fight against fraud against the public welfare system.
