Explosion in Ercolano, Pasquale Perna defends himself: "I had nothing to do with it"

During the validation hearing in Naples, the 38-year-old man implicated in the Ercolano explosion investigation chose to exercise his right to remain silent, while reiterating his innocence. The arrest warrant, issued by the Prosecutor's Office and notified by the Carabinieri, concerns an investigation into the explosion that occurred at a house on Via Patacca, Ercolano, used for the illicit production of fireworks.

The tragedy

In the explosion at the illegal factory of fires The victims were twins Sara and Aurora Esposito, 26, and 18-year-old Samuel Tafciu. Investigators have scheduled autopsies on the victims' bodies for today. The indictment against the suspect follows charges of multiple voluntary homicide with possible intent, along with charges of possession and manufacturing of unconventional explosives, as well as gangmastering.

Deputy prosecutors Stella Castaldo and Vincenzo Toscano are currently leading the investigation, while the judge is now called upon to express a decision regarding the suspect.

It is really sad that things like this happen, the victims are young and do not deserve to die in this way. Justice must take its course and we hope that everything will be clarified. There are many issues to be clarified.
