Caivano. The eviction of 36 illegally occupied apartments in the Parco Verde residential complex concluded today. As announced by the Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, all the apartments have been vacated and sealed to prevent further occupation.
The intervention involved approximately 132 people from families who did not meet the requirements for public housing. Many of them had criminal records or financial circumstances that were incompatible with public housing.
A step forward towards redevelopment
This operation represents a major step forward in the broader redevelopment project of Parco Verde, an area long plagued by social and criminal problems. As envisioned by the Special Program approved by the Campania Region, all 750 buildings in the complex will be secured.
Interested citizens may contact the offices of the Extraordinary Commissioner for the redevelopment of the Caivano area to receive assistance and information.

Roads patrolled by law enforcement
The neighborhood streets remain patrolled by hundreds of law enforcement officers. In front of the church of San Paolo, whose parish priest is Father Maurizio Patriciello, several dozen people, mostly women, have gathered. They are worried about their future. They fear that this morning's operation will lead to further evictions. "They have to tell us where we're going.", they scream. "They will make us end up like the residents of Le Vele, to whom no one wants to rent houses.", adds a woman.
What happens now?
After the evacuation, a new phase will begin, with institutions working to redevelop the area and offer new opportunities to residents. Significant resources and effective coordination among all the agencies involved will be required to transform the Parco Verde into a safe and livable place.
Few people at Don Patriciello's mass
There are few people attending the evening mass that Don Maurizio Patriciello is celebrating this evening in the church of San Paolo, in the Parco Verde of Caivano. However, the prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, is sitting in the first pew and has decided to return to the Parco Verde to show his closeness to the citizens. Before entering the church, the prefect spoke to journalists, reiterating that the next step, after the evictions carried out this morning, will be the implementation of the special plan promoted by the government, which includes the redevelopment of approximately 750 homes.
Outside the church, in addition to a significant presence of law enforcement, several dozen people gathered before the celebration to ask for reassurance.
