Neapolitan public health is increasingly close to collapse, at least according to what was reported by the assembly of the medical, health, veterinary and health professions management of ASL Napoli 1 Centro. In a letter sent to the prefect of Naples and to the Strategic Management of the health company, the representatives of the sector have expressed a harsh indictment against delays, inefficiencies and shortages that penalize the staff, announcing the proclamation of a state of agitation.
Among the main issues highlighted is the lack of formalization of professional roles, despite the fact that many appointments have already been approved and the Regulation for the Graduation of Management Roles has been in place since July 2023.

Working conditions are becoming increasingly difficult also due to other critical issues, such as the failure to pay the INAIL fund for the years 2019-2021 to those entitled and the absence of financial supplements for self-contracted work in emergency-urgency areas, despite regional resolutions that provide for their provision. The situation is made even more unsustainable by the lack of transparency on the part of the company, which, according to union representatives, has not provided data on the size of the staff in the departments or on the residual amounts of the financial funds for years, thus preventing any possibility of monitoring. Furthermore, despite repeated requests, the Company-wide Integrated Bargaining has not been started, an essential element to ensure constructive dialogue between the parties and improve working conditions.
The proclamation of the state of agitation, signed by numerous trade unions including Anaao Assomed, Cimo-Fesmed-Anpo, Fassid, Aaroi Emac, FP Cgil Doctors and Health Managers Fvm and Federazione Cisl Me, represents a further stage in a conflict that is now deep-rooted. "Working and organizational conditions are now unsustainable – we read in the note – and The company continues to fail to fulfill its duties, worsening an already dramatic situation."

Public health in Naples is truly a problem, there are so many delays and no solution is in sight. Doctors and workers are suffering so much because of these shortcomings, and I don't understand why things aren't improving. Let's hope the prefect does something soon.
