Naples, the Orsa union against Eav: "It is forcing bus drivers to take vacation"

Naples. A strong protest statement from EAV's Orsa Autoferro union was issued the day after the unveiling of the new Stadler train. The protest concerns bus lines, which are always a focus of attention, even among many commuters.

"We would like to know where the hundreds of new buses, delivered with great fanfare by Governor De Luca over the last 4 years, have ended up, when from today theEAV is forcing many drivers to go on holiday, "in consideration of the impossibility of employing them profitably", says the letter sent to them by the manager, because in reality it does not have sufficient means to guarantee the car journeys foreseen by the operating program, and it leaves hundreds of travellers stranded... this too is an interruption of public service, the grounds for a complaint are there!!

Evidently in EAV All employees are equal, but there are some who are more equal than others!!", the statement reads.

And then: "And in the meantime? Station facilities are being "desertified" by closing ticket offices, and indirectly sending a message to petty crime that "the territory can become a land of conquest," thus increasing the feeling of insecurity among travelers. Without having renewed the railway infrastructure and without being able to renovate the road network, they are proceeding to impose shifts on train crews, resulting in physically unsustainable increases in productivity, especially given the currently dismal quality and quantity of reliable buses and trains in circulation.

And then? As if nothing had happened, incomplete stations are inaugurated, see Naples Porta Nolana. The train that is there, but is not there, is presented to the press, because it will enter service in 10 months, when there will surely be another celebration, other promises and, who knows, "maybe" another delay in the delivery schedule, perhaps due to an alien attack, which will move forward the hopes (for those who still have them) of finally seeing this company rise again.

But? Despite management repeatedly boasting about combating alleged "bad habits" among employees, mercilessly firing some (only to later have to rehire some, at great cost to us taxpayers, after adverse court rulings), nothing concrete has been done to address those managers and officials who allegedly "abused" expense reimbursements and other things... In fact, we are still "confidently" awaiting the internal investigation to determine who is responsible, or those responsible, for the sordid story of the expired fire extinguishers and the resulting almost two-hour train service disruption. Nonetheless, it seems "very strange" to us that EAV hasn't filed a criminal complaint for disruption of public service, even though the grounds for doing so were there..."

And an article that highlights very serious problems, but as always things do not change. There is talk of new buses and trains, but in the end nothing arrives. Commuters are increasingly frustrated and no one does anything to solve it.

The article talks about a serious problem regarding public transportation in Naples. It is incredible that there are so many new buses that are not used, while commuters are left stranded. I do not understand how a situation like this can be managed without taking adequate measures.
