Il Festival del Cinema Italiano di Madrid si appresta a celebrare la sua 17esima edizione, con un ricco programma che si estende dal 27 novembre al 4 dicembre. La manifestazione rappresenta un’occasione unica per il pubblico spagnolo di assistere a una selezione dei migliori cortometraggi, documentari e lungometraggi del cinema italiano contemporaneo. Le proiezioni si terranno presso la sala MK2 Cine Paz, offrendo ingressi gratuiti a tutti gli spettatori.
Lifetime Achievement Award and Opening of the Festival
This year, the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to Sonia Bergamasco. The celebration will also be marked by the premiere of the documentary “Duse – The Greatest”, which marks Bergamasco’s debut as a director and will kick off the festival’s program.
Collateral Events
Among the events scheduled, the “Cinema in Istituto” section will offer the screening of the documentary “Posso dentro? An ode to Naples” by Trudie Styler, paying homage to the city of Naples. During the festival, the legendary Marcello Mastroianni will also be celebrated, with the screening of the films “Il Bell'Antonio”, “La notte” and “Divorzio all'italiana”.
Activities for the little ones
On Saturday, November 30, Giffoni Cine Lab will organize a workshop dedicated to children, offering an opportunity for creative learning within the festival context. The films presented during the festival will be previewed for the Spanish public and will be screened in their original version, with Spanish subtitles. This event represents a cultural bridge between Italy and Spain, promoting the richness of Italian cinema in the international panorama.

The Italian film festival in Madrid is very interesting, but I hope there are more famous films. The screening of films with Spanish subtitles is a good idea, so that more people can understand them.
