And this is why this morning, on behalf of the Regional Prosecutor's Office of the Court of Auditors for Campania (Regional Prosecutor Antonio Giuseppone, Deputy Prosecutors General Davide Vitale and Flavia Del Grosso), the military personnel of the Economic-Financial Police Unit of the Guardia di Finanza of Naples have notified an invitation to deduct against 9 directors, managers and employees of SMA Campania Spa
The Prosecutor's Office holds them responsible for damages to the public treasury amounting to 5.777.757,45 euros. The investigations, conducted between 2012 and 2022, revealed a management characterized by systematic waste of public funds.
Payments were made without adequate supporting documentation, as well as the fraudulent use of rechargeable cards ("flash cards") for urgent expenses, with a maximum limit of €1.000. Some payments were found to be intended for personal purposes, such as subscriptions to music streaming services, even made at unusual times, such as XNUMX a.m.
The company also allegedly entrusted car rental and mobile phone services through direct procedures, evading public tenders and CONSIP agreements, resulting in higher costs and in violation of public procurement regulations.

It is important that there is transparency and that stricter controls are made to prevent these abuses. Promotions without public selections are another serious problem, there should be clear rules to ensure fairness.
