An epic match, but one with a high price. Guglielmo Vicario, Tottenham Hotspur and Italy goalkeeper, took to social media to reveal the sad story that befell him during the recent match against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. “Sometimes football gives you incredible emotions, other times it challenges you in ways you don't expect,” he wrote on his Instagram profile, saying he played for 60 minutes with a broken ankle bone.
Despite the pain, the goalkeeper gave it his all on the pitch, but the situation proved unsustainable, forcing him to undergo surgery.
