Two hours of strike today for the workers of Trasnova, a company in the logistics sector involved in the Stellantis plant in Pomigliano, whose order expires on December 31. The issue was at the center of a table at the Prefecture yesterday.
"At the meeting with the prefect, who has always been sensitive to labour issues - underlines Mario Di Costanzo, of the Fiom-Cgil secretariat of Naples - we had to take note of the absence of the Stellantis company management who once again deserted the meeting requested by the prefecture of Napoli to find solutions for the more than 90 workers who will no longer have jobs as of December 31st. Once again, the arrogance of a company that, despite its presence in Italy, appears to be exempt from any social or institutional responsibility prevails.
"This unfortunate behavior," according to Di Costanzo, "risks leading to actions such as roadblocks and blockades at the gates of the Pomigliano plant. It risks sparking a fight between workers, those trying to earn their day's wages and those trying to save their jobs.
This conflict risks escalating, and Stellantis is entirely responsible, taking on a grave responsibility that the government and institutions should answer for."
"Today," Di Costanzo adds, "the company is replacing striking workers with employees from other companies, a slap in the face to fathers who are desperately trying to defend the work they've done with professionalism and dedication for over 30 years. We ask the government to intervene to protect the interests of workers before it's too late. Anyone who thinks they're dividing workers has received the first response."
