A young scammer from Naples was arrested in Ferrara by police while attempting to scam an elderly woman using the usual technique of pretending to be a police officer and mentioning her son's accident.
In the late morning, an anonymous phone call alerted the police: an impostor pretending to be a Carabinieri officer was asking for a large sum of money to solve a problem involving the victim's son.
Thanks to the timely reporting and the intuition of the Flying Squad officers, the fraudster was identified at the Ferrara station and arrested while trying to flee with the loot.
