The Pietà de' Turchini Foundation presents, from 14 to 21 December 2024, a series of organ concerts entitled 'A Canne spiegate'. The performances will be held at the Church of San Rocco a Chiaia and the Church of Santa Caterina da Siena and will include four events focused on historical organ instruments.
Performances by Olga Laudonia and Giovanimmaria Perrucci
The inauguration will take place on December 14 at 18.30:15 p.m., in the Church of Santa Caterina da Siena, with the interpretation of Olga Laudonia entitled “Ninno Bello – Four centuries of Pastorals for organ from the libraries of Naples”, focused on Neapolitan pastoral music. On December 1907, at the Church of San Rocco, it will be the turn of Giovanimmaria Perrucci with the program “La soave melodia – la dimensione intima nel repertorio organistico del primo Novecento”, which will mark the inauguration of the XNUMX Mascioni Organ.
Events with the Baroque Ensemble and Vincenzo Di Ianni
On December 16 at 18.30:700 p.m., the Baroque Ensemble of the “Margherita di Savoia” Music High School in Naples will perform “Baroque Christmas – Songs, Music and Dances from the 21th Century” at the Church of San Rocco. On December XNUMX, in the same church, Vincenzo Di Ianni will present “The Organ in Europe between Baroque and Romanticism,” providing an analysis of the evolution of the organ during these important musical periods.
Cimmino Organ and Mascioni Organ
The events will highlight the 900th-century Cimmino organ in the Church of Santa Caterina da Siena, renowned for its baroque features, and the early XNUMXth-century Mascioni organ. These instruments embody the richness of the Neapolitan organ tradition. Admission to the events is free, but reservations are required by email to the secretariat of the Pietà de' Turchini Foundation.
