The Comedy Festival awards the Lifetime Achievement Award to two icons of the Italian comedy scene, Jerry Calà and Giobbe Covatta. This ninth edition of the Pulcinella FilmFest, directed by Giuseppe Alessio Nuzzo, will be held from 9 to 15 December in the evocative setting of the Castello dei Conti di Acerra.

Awards and Guests

Actor Jerry Calà will participate in a special event on December 12, including a debate at the Casa del Cinema e delle Arti, followed by an awards ceremony and the screening of his latest film “Chi ha kidnapped Jerry Calà?”. Giobbe Covatta, present on December 13, will be the protagonist of a dialogue with the youth of the festival and will present the film in competition “Il mio regno per una farfalla”.

Exhibition and Programming

In homage to Sandra Milo, a photography exhibition will be set up in the Biblioteca del Cinema e delle Arti del Mezzogiorno. In collaboration with Rai Teche, a video mapping will broadcast a retrospective on the castle walls, displaying archive images of her career. Every evening the public will be able to attend the free screening of the films in competition, including “La spiaggia dei gabbiani” by Claudio Pauri and “Amici per caso” by Max Nardari.

I didn't know the two actors well either, but I think it's a good opportunity to discover new works. The photo exhibition on Sandra Milo intrigues me a lot.

The festival from what I read seems interesting but I don't know if I'll go, I've never seen films by Jerry Calà or Giobbe Covatta. Maybe I could watch something in streaming, who knows.
