The Civil Protection of the Campania Region, following the analyses of the Functional Center, has issued a Yellow level weather alert valid from midnight until 23:59 pm on Sunday 8 December. Scattered precipitation is expected, locally intense, with showers and thunderstorms that will affect the entire regional territory.
Strong winds from the southwest are also expected, with possible gusts and local reinforcements, and rough seas, with the risk of storm surges along exposed coasts.
The current disturbance could cause hydrogeological instability phenomena, such as flooding, inundations, runoff, falling rocks and landslides, aggravated by the vulnerability of the territory.
Civil Protection reminds Mayors to activate Municipal Operations Centers (COC), to implement the measures provided for in the emergency plans and to monitor trees, infrastructures and other structures exposed to atmospheric agents.
Furthermore, snowfall above 1000 meters and, locally, even at lower altitudes are not excluded. It is essential to pay attention to the updates issued by the Regional Operations Room of the Civil Protection.
