The Department of Civil Protection of the Campania Region has issued a Yellow level weather alert due to thunderstorms and possible hydrogeological instability.
The warning, issued on the basis of the evaluations of the Functional Center, will be valid from 6 am tomorrow, Friday 20 December, until 6 am on Saturday 21 December. The Yellow level meteorological criticality affects the entire region, with the exception of zones 4 (Alta Irpinia and Sannio) and 7 (Tanagro).
In the affected areas, local to scattered precipitation is expected, in the form of showers or thunderstorms, with intensity that may be moderate. Strong winds are also expected from the western quadrants, with possible gusts, which will tend to come from the North during the evening.
Furthermore, the sea will be rough, with the risk of storm surges on exposed coasts. The situation could generate a localized hydrogeological risk, with possible flooding, inundations, runoff, landslides and falling rocks. Particular attention is paid to the land already made fragile by previous atmospheric phenomena, which could be subject to further subsidence.

The yellow weather alert seems like an important warning but I don't really understand what people should do. I hope the authorities give clear and timely information to avoid dangerous situations.
