Protagonist in Naples
From Friday 20 to Sunday 22 December 2024, Sala Assoli in Naples will host an event dedicated to the dramaturgy of Giovanni Testori. Entrusted to the talented actress Anna Della Rosa, recent winner of important awards such as the Duse Prize and the ANCT Critics' Prize, the event presents a series of monologues. In collaboration with Emilia Romagna Teatro ERT and the Compagnia Lombardi-Tiezzi, the program includes two works taken from Tre Lai - "Erodiàs" and "Mater strangosciàs", performed in the evening for two consecutive days, and a renewed version of "Cleopatràs".
The artistic project
This artistic project explores the emotional facets of a fascinating literary universe. A theatrical legacy “Erodiàs” and “Mater strangosciàs” mark a significant artistic transition, given the involvement of Sandro Lombardi who interpreted and directed the Tre Lai.
Testori's work
Testori’s works, which represented a crucial point in Lombardi’s career, are now entrusted to Anna Della Rosa. The narration revolves around strong female figures: Herodias obsessed by an impossible love and Mary, “Mater strangosciàs”, crushed by the pain of losing her Son. This change of role, in the spirit of oriental theatrical traditions, symbolizes an important transfer of knowledge in the artistic panorama. Musical renewal Valter Malosti’s Cleopatràs, now on stage in an expanded version with live electronics curated by Gup Alcaro, meets the interpretative sensitivity of Anna Della Rosa.
Testori recontextualizes the universe of the ancient Cleopatra in the author's beloved landscape, uniting past and present in a dialogue of voices, sounds and images. The new interpretation will present a Cleopatra immersed in a vortex of sensuality and poetic scrutiny, recalling the great tradition of Italian comedy and infusing an innovative vigor into the classic Testorian verses.
Tickets for this event, available at a cost of €18,00, offer reductions for certain age groups and conventions. For further information and reservations, you can call 345 467 9142 or write to assoli@casadelcontemporaneo.it.

This article is about a very interesting event in Naples, but I am not sure if the details are clear. The names of the works are complicated and there is too much information in a few lines. Hopefully people will understand better.
