Forio d'Ischia. A Christmas Eve no one will forget. In a quiet alley in Forio d'Ischia, shortly before midnight, a scene of unprecedented violence shocked the community. A 42-year-old woman, her face swollen and her body bruised by blows, managed to escape her partner's attack and call the police for help.
The victim, terrified and injured, told officers she had been repeatedly beaten inside her home. The man, a 46-year-old, allegedly threatened to kill her, brandishing a broken bottle and shouting, "I'll cut your head off today!"
When the Carabinieri arrived, they found the apartment in a terrible state: overturned furniture, bloodstains on the floor, and a tense atmosphere. The front door was open, and the Carabinieri entered. In the living room, a 46-year-old man was sitting quietly on a chair while the TV was playing a Christmas movie.
There's also a broken beer bottle on the kitchen floor and the remote control for that TV is covered in blood. police they block the man who abruptly interrupts that state of meditation making it difficult to arrest.
A nightmare that repeats itself
The situation returns to normal and this allows us to reconstruct the abuse and aggression that the woman suffered.

This story is really sad and makes you think about how dangerous domestic violence can be. Women should be encouraged to speak up and ask for help, because no one should have to endure such ugliness in their lives.
