ASL Napoli 1: "No delay in 118 interventions"

In an official statement, the ASL Napoli 1 Centro categorically denied any delay in the interventions carried out today by the 118 emergency service, despite the heavy traffic caused by the approaching Christmas. "The ambulances arrived on site very quickly," the statement stated.

The data, confirmed by the 118 Operations Center's information system, demonstrates prompt response. "The first intervention of the day, in the Vomero area, was handled extremely quickly: the call came in at 9:32 a.m., the vehicle was dispatched at 9:33 a.m., and the ambulance arrived on the scene at 9:36 a.m.," the statement emphasizes. "Despite the immediate application of lifesaving procedures, unfortunately, it was not possible to resuscitate the patient."

A second intervention, requested in the afternoon on Corso Umberto I for another cardiac arrest, followed a similar pattern. "The call was received at 15:17 PM and the ambulance arrived at 15:25 PM, again despite traffic congestion," he reports. the ASL.

Ciro Verdoliva, general director of ASL Napoli 1, expressed his closeness to the families of the victims: "Despite the utmost commitment and promptness of the staff, unfortunately, it was not possible to save the patients. Our condolences and deepest sympathy go to the families."

Giuseppe Galano, director of the 118 emergency service, also emphasized the system's efficiency and the value of its operators: "The outcome of an emergency response can't always be attributed to alleged delays. Every day, our operators put their heart and soul into saving lives. It's important to report the facts as they are, without creating unwarranted distrust in a service that saves hundreds of lives every year."

The note concludes with an invitation to provide correct information, to protect citizens' trust in an emergency system that is confirmed to be solid and efficient.
