A gang of about ten boys, hooded and dressed in black like ninjas, attempted for three consecutive nights to steal the large Christmas tree in the Galleria Principe in Naples. Using ropes, they tried to cut it down, but without success.
Given the immense size of the tree, the gang attempted to pull it down with ropes. Three theft attempts were made, all unsuccessful.
“For three nights now 12-13 kids have been coming here to the gallery trying to steal the tree” – explains one of the traders who works inside the monumental gallery who addressed the Green-Sinister alliance deputy Francesco Emilio Borrelli-“A tree so big that it needs to be transported on a truck will kill them if it falls on them.”
“These episodes are not simple thefts”, commented Borrelli. "They are the tip of the iceberg of a larger problem: the growth of increasingly aggressive and violent baby gangs. It is essential to intensify controls and prevention to stem this phenomenon and prevent these young people from slipping into organized crime."

The idea that a group of kids would try to steal a Christmas tree seems absurd to me. I don't understand how they could think they could do it, given that it is so big. I hope the authorities take this seriously.
