An ordinary afternoon turned into a daring adventure at a Battipaglia supermarket. A man, with quick and decisive action, filled a cart with alcohol and groceries, clearly demonstrating his intention to disappear without paying.
When security personnel noticed the theft in progress and attempted to stop it, the thief showed an unexpectedly aggressive face, threatening employees in a desperate attempt to ensure his escape.
Fortunately, the timeliness of the report allowed the immediate intervention of the Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Section. Arriving on the scene, the soldiers stopped the thief before he could get away with the stolen goods.
Despite his strenuous resistance, the man was handcuffed and taken to the barracks. He was subsequently transferred to the prison in Salerno, where he will have to answer to charges of attempted improper robbery and resisting a public official.
