As part of the constant economic control activity of the territory, implemented by the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Benevento, the patrolling activities of the financial police of the Benevento Group have been intensified, concentrated in particular on the weekends of November.
For this purpose, the number of patrols, including those with plainclothes crews, has been increased in the Sannio capital and, in particular, in the nightlife areas of the historic centre.
As part of the checks, the following were reported to the Prefecture of Benevento, as drug users, 3 young people from the capital were each found in possession of approximately one gram of hashish, subjected to administrative seizure.
During the patrol activities of the territory, an eighteen-year-old from Benevento was also subjected to control, found in possession of a switchblade with a blade lock, hidden in his pants pocket. At the end of the intervention, the weapon was seized and the young man reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Benevento for illegal possession of weapons.
In addition, two tobacco shops in the Sannio capital were checked, located in the meeting and gathering places of young people and students. In this circumstance, they identified some customers of the aforementioned commercial establishments, including two minors, who had recently purchased a pack of cigarettes.
Therefore, the Guardia di Finanza found that the retailers had sold tobacco to minors without verifying the age of the buyers and fined them for violating the ban on selling tobacco to minors under 18 years of age.
In particular, the current legislation provides that "for anyone who sells or supplies tobacco products or electronic cigarettes or containers of refill liquid, containing nicotine or new generation tobacco products, to minors under the age of eighteen", a fine of up to 3.000,00 euros and a fifteen-day suspension of the license is foreseen, which, in the event of a repeat offence, can be revoked. A fine is instead foreseen for anyone who sells tobacco to minors under the age of 14.
The operations carried out demonstrate the attention of the Guardia di Finanza in combating illicit trafficking, in order to protect the legality and safety of the community.
It is represented that the reported subject is subject to preliminary investigations and, therefore, presumed innocent until a final sentence.
