Benevento, Gdf seizes 36 liters of unmarked grappa: Albanian citizen reported

The Guardia di Finanza of the Provincial Command of Benevento has carried out a significant seizure of alcoholic beverages as part of checks on the territory to combat tax evasion and economic irregularities. During an operation conducted in recent days, the military of the Solopaca Tenancy intercepted and seized 36 liters of grappa transported in containers without the State stamp.

The operation took place along the Strada Statale 372, in the territory of San Salvatore Telesino (BN). During a routine check, the Fiamme Gialle stopped a van used for collective transport of people, at that moment without passengers. The driver of the vehicle was an Albanian citizen, in whose vehicle 17 containers containing a total of approximately 36 liters of grappa were discovered.

The goods, lacking the State stamp, were found to be evaded from the assessment and payment of excise duties on alcoholic beverages. Furthermore, the driver of the van was unable to provide any documentation certifying their origin. For these reasons, the man was reported at liberty to the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Benevento on charges of evading payment of excise duty and receiving stolen goods.

Sanctions and controls intensified

The 36 litres of grappa seized have been made available to the judicial authorities, while the checks continue Guardia di Finanza to combat the illicit trade of alcoholic beverages and protect the State's tax revenues. The operation is part of the institutional activities of the Fiamme Gialle, aimed at ensuring compliance with tax regulations and the economic security of the territory.
