Crackdown on illegal gambling in the Aversa countryside. Police Chief of Caserta, Andrea Grassi, has arranged the suspension of the license for 15 days against a bar in the area, after a blitz by the Carabinieri which led to the discovery of a clandestine gambling den.
The operation was triggered during a check aimed at combating illegal gambling. Inside the premises, the military surprised five men of Albanian origin, some of which with criminal record, intent on participating in a game prohibited by law large sums of money.
The investigations, conducted by Administrative and Social Police Division of the Police Headquarters Caserta, have brought to light serious irregularities in the management of the premises. Based on the investigative findings, the Police Commissioner signed the order to suspend the licence, which was notified to the owner of the establishment, a woman 41 year old of Romanian origin.
