On Christmas Eve, on Viale Giochi del Mediterraneo, near the entrance to the Space cinema, Green Left MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli witnessed an extortion incident involving an unauthorized parking attendant. The individual, already the subject of numerous complaints, was threatening motorists, demanding parking fees.
Confrontation and Attempted Assault
Upon Borrelli's arrival, the parking attendant reacted with threats toward the deputy and attempted to physically assault him several times. The timely intervention of law enforcement prompted the suspect to attempt to flee.
Arrest and Statements of the Deputy
Despite his attempted escape, the individual was quickly identified and handcuffed on Via Terracina, inside a private park. Following the incident, Francesco Emilio Borrelli expressed his outrage:
“I cannot understand how such a criminal, already subjected to Daspo and Dacur, can still act undisturbed. Justice cannot be weak with criminals. The person who threatened me tonight is violent and dangerous; he cannot continue to harm others on the street. It is necessary to implement an effective and credible system to prevent these individuals from operating with impunity. We cannot retreat in the face of these repeat offenders, who survive at the expense of the community. This is a battle we must win, and I will not give up even on Christmas Day.”
Commitment Against Crime
Borrelli's remarks underscore the importance of strengthening anti-crime measures and not tolerating illegal behavior, especially during sensitive periods like the Christmas holidays. The MP reiterated his commitment to combating crime to ensure the safety and well-being of the community.

It is incredible how some people can act without fear of punishment. The situation of illegal parking attendants is truly worrying and must be addressed. We hope that the authorities will take more severe measures to protect citizens.
