Montesarchio. A shocking tragedy has shocked the community of Montesarchio. Felice Ferretta, 73, died last Thursday at the Benevento Civil Hospital after being admitted for a simple fall at home. His family, entrusted to Studio3A, filed a complaint, triggering an investigation by the Benevento Prosecutor's Office into manslaughter.
It all started last December 10th, when the elderly man was found on the floor at home due to a fall, probably caused by a withdrawal crisis. Transported to the Emergency Room of Fatebenefratelli, after a series of tests he was discharged with a diagnosis of a broken finger and a possible fracture to the nasal septum. However, his situation worsened in the hours that followed.
Taken back to the emergency room, Ferretta was found in critical condition: three broken ribs, a punctured lung, and a large hematoma on his head.

The family expressed deep shock over what happened, raising questions about the medical staff's handling of the case. According to their reconstruction, the father sustained the most serious injuries inside the hospital, where he should have received appropriate treatment.
The Public Prosecutor, Dr. Licia Fabrizi, has ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death and has opened an investigation. The appointed medical examiner will have sixty days to submit his report.
The incident has sparked great emotion and highlights the importance of proper healthcare, especially for the most vulnerable patients.
