Camorra, Abbinante clan: sentences of over 361 years imposed

  4. Salvatore Monreale: 8 years and a 20 thousand euro fine
  5. Vincenzo Candido: 8 years, 5 months and 10 days
  6. Antonio Esposito: 8 years, 6 months and a 21 thousand euro fine
  7. Salvatore Volpicelli: 8 years, 10 months and 20 days with a fine of 40 thousand euros
  8. Giuseppe Romano: 9 years and 4 months
  9. Thomas Ciriello: 9 years and 4 months
  10. Louis Basile: 9 years and 4 months
  11. Gennaro Russo: 9 years and 4 months
  12. Rose Marotta: 9 years, 5 months and 10 days
  13. Gennaro Matuzzo: 10 years
  14. Francis Bartolo: 11 years, 10 month and XNUMX days
  15. Dominic Hammer: 11 years, 10 month and XNUMX days
  16. Joanna Monetti: 11 years, 10 month and XNUMX days
  17. Guido Esposito: 11 years and 4 months
  18. Claudio Di Napoli: 12 years
  19. Vincenzo Carrino: 12 years
  20. John Jasmine: 12 years
  21. Vincenzo Pagano: 12 years
  22. Paul Cyprus: 13 years and 4 months
  23. Francesco Abbinante: Class of '98, 14 years old
  24. Andrea Arpino: 14 years and 10 months
  25. Salvatore Iorio: 17 years, 9 months and 10 days
  26. Nicholas Capasso: 18 years

Probation for a period of not less than three years for Francesco Abbinante, Mari, Arpino, Di Napoli, Iorio, Gelsomino, Guido Esposito. Acquittals from some of the charges contested for Arcangelo Abbinante, Paolo Ciprio, Alessandro Errico, Guido Esposito, Salvatore Volpicelli, Vincenzo Pagano (defended by the lawyer Nicola Pomponio) "for not having committed the act" (in this last case it is a question of extortion).

Acquittal for some of the crimes contested but with the formula "because the fact does not exist" for Antonio Esposito and Salvatore Iorio. The defense team, in addition to Pomponio, included, among others, the lawyers Dello Iacono, Regine, Mottola and Procentese. The reasons will be made known within 30 days.

  1. The sentence is very severe and makes one reflect on how justice can be applied in such complex cases. Even if there were acquittals, the sentences inflicted are still a clear sign of the fight against the Camorra.
