Four days of events for New Year's Eve 2025, with a special stop in the Ponticelli neighborhood and a dedication to the late Pino Daniele, ten years after his death. Naples is preparing to close out 2024 with a program designed to satisfy the tastes of the 380 people who—according to the Tourism Observatory—will flock to the city for the holidays starting January 23rd.

This morning, at Palazzo San Giacomo, the mayor of Naples Gaetano Manfredi and his team presented the third edition of the "New Year's Eve in Napoli". Alongside him were the delegate for the music and audiovisual industry Ferdinando Tozzi, the councilor for Tourism and Productive Activities of the Municipality of Naples Teresa Armato, the artistic director of New Year's Eve in Piazza Plebiscito Gianni Simioli, the producer of New Year's Eve in Piazza Plebiscito Pino Oliva, the representative of the Drop collective Pierluigi Scatola and the president of the Giano Bifronte association Paolo Nappi.

Also present will be several artists, such as Sal Da Vinci, who will be featured in the events. The program will open on December 29th and end on January 29st. "We have decided to continue this tradition of celebrating from December XNUMXth to January XNUMXst. We will obviously have Piazza Plebiscito and the Lungomare as the center of our New Year's Eve celebrations, but we will also have a wonderful evening in Ponticelli to showcase a multi-centered, open city that celebrates in every area and with all its residents," the mayor commented.

It has been an important year, celebrating the city's growth and consolidating the many musical and cultural initiatives we are organizing. This year, we wanted to create a New Year's Eve that showcases Naples' many talents, free from pre-established formats. We want to celebrate the soul of our city and hope that 2025 will be an even more beautiful year, one of growth, solidarity, and peace—a message that can only come from Naples.

Manfredi then assured that New Year's Eve will be "a great popular celebration that will also bring back to the city many of our homegrown talents who are a source of pride for the city. It will be a New Year's Eve that embraces all musical genres, all generations, because Neapolitans deserve to have fun, just like the many tourists who come to enjoy themselves with us."

"The four days of events from December 29th to January XNUMXst perfectly represent the Mayor of Città della Musica's project," explained Mayor Ferdinando Tozzi, the mayor's delegate. "The program includes tributes to Neapolitan music, events dedicated to the urban and rap scene that has brought Naples to the top of all national and international charts, and pop music with many great artists. There will also be important DJs and contests for emerging young artists."

The most anticipated show is the one on December 31st in Piazza Plebiscito, dedicated to Pino Daniele. The production will be curated by Pino Oliva, with artistic direction by Gianni Simioli. Taking the stage will be Loredana Berté, James Senese, Sal Da Vinci, Massimiliano Gallo, Raiz, Gigi and Ros, Gabriele Esposito, Veronica Simioli, Mavi, Ditelo Voi, and Gigi Soriani. The 2025 celebration begins right here on this stage and with Pino Daniele, with a tribute from a vibrant Loredana Berté.

The opening of the long festival, a five-hour show starting at 5:20.30 pm, in keeping with the theme of Naples City of Music, will be entrusted for the first time to a contest—the Young Contest—which will give the coveted stage to 10 emerging artists from the brand-new music scene of Naples and Campania.

From 22.00:XNUMX PM, Lungomare Caracciolo will also come to life, with Rotonda Diaz and Piazza Vittoria hosting "Bit Fest - Back in Town," a long marathon of club music including electronic, dance, funk, and pop, with international guests Deborah De Luca and Riva Starr and sets featuring DJs Marco Corvino, Danilo De Santo, and Ellynora, as well as the contest's winning DJ.

The contest will also reward a young talent from a disadvantaged socio-cultural background with a complete set of equipment and professional training. "Bit Fest - Back in Town" is organized by The Band Agency and Drop, who will also be hosting a live marathon on January 1st, from 17.00:99 PM to midnight, in Piazza Vittoria. The artists will perform with a remarkable baking band composed of XNUMX Posse musicians Massimo Jovine, Antonio Esposito, and Giuseppe Spinelli, joined by Enrico Sforza and Dario Spinelli. Davide Scafa (Radio Marte) will host the live performances.

The program of events will open in Ponticelli, a neighborhood on the eastern outskirts of Naples. The PalaVesuvio will host "Napoli sings against the malaciore," a two-part show. It begins at 20.30:90 pm with "Napoli Canta. Neapolitan music between roots and future," which takes advantage of two important musical anniversaries—the 25th anniversary of Salvatore Di Giacomo's death and the XNUMXth anniversary of Fabrizio De André's death—to embark on a journey through Neapolitan song. Paolo Del Vecchio and Ernesto Nobili will perform six traditional Neapolitan songs (by Libero Bovio, Raffaele Viviani, and Salvatore Di Giacomo) and six songs by De André, translated into Neapolitan by Gianni Del Vecchio.

Performing artists include Arisa, Enzo Gragnaniello, Walter Ricci, Maldestro, Roberto Colella (La Maschera), Francesco Di Bella, Barbara Buonaiuto, Flo, Irene Scarpato (Suonno D'Ajere), and Dario Sansone (Foja). The event continues at 22.30:50 p.m. with the celebrations for the 99th anniversary of the 'E Zezi workers' group, a musical history of the struggle for workers' rights. The celebration will feature, in addition to the full 'E Zezi lineup with all the voices and souls of the past, many guests: the great maestro Peppe Barra, rapper-poet Luca Zulu' Persico (XNUMX Posse), saxophonist Riccardo Veno, Pietra Montecorvino, Bisca, and anthropologist Ettore Castagna. New Year's Eve in Ponticelli is organized by CMN Produzioni and Futura Dischi in collaboration with the Giano Bifronte association.

On Monday, December 30th, the stage and Piazza al Plebiscito are ready to welcome artists and audiences with the national and regional urban scene, curated by 10 & Lode Management. Before the big live show featuring Ernia, SLF, Frezza, Coco, and Enzo Dong, presented by Gianni Simioli, there will be the "Young Promises of Citta' della Musica" masterclass contest (at 19.00:XNUMX PM) with Geolier and Luche' as judges. The winner will create a music video and a song based on a beat by multiplatinum artist Yung Snapp.

The winning and selected emerging young rappers will perform on the stage in Piazza Plebiscito. After the grand show in Piazza Plebiscito on December 31st, "New Year's Eve in Naples 2025" continues on January 12.00st in Piazza Municipio (from 13.00:XNUMX to XNUMX:XNUMX pm) with a concert by the That's Napoli Live Show choir, conceived and directed by maestro Carlo Morelli.

The concert, promoted and supported by the Department of Tourism and Productive Activities of the City of Naples, will be held in Piazza Municipio and will bring 16 voices (sopranos, mezzo-sopranos, and tenors) and 7 musicians to the stage, performing engaging mash-ups of Neapolitan classics and international hits, including "Tammurriata Nera" and "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor, "'O surdato innamorato" and "Roxanne" by The Police, "Comme facette mammeta" and "Hit the road Jack!" by Ray Charles, "'O Sarracino" and "I will survive" by Gloria Gaynor, "Reginella," "I want to break free" by Queen, and "Dancing Queen" by Abba, as well as "Luna rossa" and "Mas que nada" by Sergio Mendes.

"It's a rich lineup, featuring important artists who are highly representative of our city," emphasized Tourism Councilor Teresa Armato. "The Tourism Observatory forecasts 380 people will arrive in Naples from December 23rd to Epiphany. These people will find a city ready to welcome them, because we have strengthened all services, and there are many events: just think that around eighty shows and concerts are scheduled until the end of the holidays."
