Ahead of tomorrow's league match against Genoa, Napoli coach Antonio Conte appears confident and calm, praising his men and clarifying the team's next steps. Conte announced that he will be Juan Jesus to take the place of Alessandro Buongiorno, absent due to injury.
“There is Juan Jesus, he has been with us since the beginning of the season. He has always trained well and has shown great availability. It is a very obvious substitution given that we are talking about a left centre-back. He is an experienced player who has played many games, also together with Rrahmani. He knows he has my trust. He knew that in the event of a defection he would be the first choice and so it will be. I am very calm from this point of view.”
Good news also on the offensive front: Khvisha kvaratskhelia will be available. “Yesterday he started training with us again, today I saw him much more relaxed. He will come with us, he gave me his availability. It is certainly an important recovery for us,” Conte said. The coach then praised the progress of David Neres, underlining its growing tactical contribution. “He has really grown a lot since he arrived. He is a player who is much more involved in the team, in everything. He understood that we need players who are active in both phases. He gives me a double alternative, both on the right and left, and we are very happy.”
Finally, Conte reiterated his confidence in his men, but left the door open to possible market operations: “For my part, I have the utmost confidence in this group. I know that I can go to war with them, a sporting one. They are real men, they grow day after day, and I think their growth is evident on the pitch. If there were to be credible opportunities and the club decides to intervene, then we will see. But my answer will always be the same: I have confidence in these guys.”
