On the eve of the Coppa Italia match against Lazio, Napoli coach Antonio Conte held a press conference in which he reiterated his long-term vision for the club, emphasizing team growth and managing the entire squad. "The most important match is Thursday's against Lazio. I will make some decisions because we have a lot of players in the squad," Conte stated, emphasizing the importance of everyone's contribution, not just the starters: "Our good start is not just thanks to the 12 or 13 players who have played the most, but also to those who, despite not playing, have maintained a high level in training."
Conte's goal is clear: to build and grow through play. "This year, having only the league and Coppa Italia is a limitation, but we must take every opportunity to test the progress of those who have played less. It's crucial for us, for the players, and for the club," he explained.
Conte emphasized the importance of avoiding muscle injuries, praising the work done by his staff so far: "We've been good at avoiding them so far, but tomorrow will be a test for those who have played less. We'll approach the match with great commitment and a desire to improve." Special attention was given to Giacomo Raspadori , often at the center of fans' expectations: "He's an intelligent player, he deserves more space and is improving his dribbling and finishing skills. Tomorrow will be the chance to see him from the start, like so many others. I need to be assessed on the pitch."
Conte then looked to the future of the Napoli project: "At the end of the year, I'll be happy if we've laid a solid foundation for ambition. We mustn't just focus on results and the league table, but also understand if we're building something lasting. Even a victory can be fleeting if there's no solid project. True satisfaction will come when we consistently fight for something important."
Finally, Conte touched on the possibility of organizing international friendlies: "I've considered facing teams that don't compete in the cups, but it's difficult. We have to make a virtue of necessity with these two competitions." The message is clear: build today to win tomorrow, with the understanding that success is built on solid foundations and not just in the moment.
