The 4K remastered version of INTERSTELLA 5555: THE 5TORY OF THE 5ECRET 5TAR 5YSTEM will be available in theaters only from December 12 to 15. This anime masterpiece, the result of the collaboration between Daft Punk and Leiji Matsumoto, offers a new exclusive viewing opportunity for fans of the genre.
A Masterpiece of 2003
Back in 4K The film, originally released in 2003, was created by Daft Punk, Cédric Hervet, Leiji Matsumoto, and Toei Animation. It tells the story of the kidnapping of an alien band by a diabolical individual with dark plans. Based entirely on Daft Punk's 2001 album "Discovery," it includes hits such as "One More Time" and "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger." Shinji Shimizu, the film's producer for Toei Animation, recalls the sensation these songs caused: "One More Time" was playing everywhere, inspiring such pride that he wanted to announce the animation's completion.
Exclusive Reissues and Merchandise
In parallel with the theatrical release, the "Discovery: Interstella 5555 Edition" album will be reissued in a limited edition, featuring original elements such as Japanese artwork and Daft Club cards. Gold and black vinyl versions are planned, as well as numbered CDs. Additionally, an exclusive collection of merchandise inspired by the film's Crescendolls will be available for purchase on the official Daft Punk website.
The Success of "Discovery"
The album "Discovery" has received numerous international awards, including gold certification in the United States and multiple platinum certifications in Europe and Japan. I didn't know there was a remastered version of Interstella 5555, it seems like a very beautiful film and I have only seen the normal version, I will try to go to the cinema to see it in 4K. The music is also fantastic.
The movie INTERSTELLA 5555 is very beautiful but I have not seen the remastered version in 4K. I hope there will be other dates because I would like to see it in the cinema, Daft Punk have always been my favorites.
