Naples. The extraordinary checks of the State Police in Naples continue without stopping, aimed at combating drug trafficking and the illegal possession of weapons. Yesterday, the agents of the Vicaria-Mercato Police Station arrested two people found in possession of narcotics during operations at Porta Capuana.
The first arrest took place in the morning, in Vico Cappella in Pontenuovo, near Via Santa Caterina in Formiello. The officers observed a suspicious exchange between a young man and another person. They intervened promptly and stopped the 18-year-old, originally from El Salvador, finding him in possession of three packages containing cocaine, a small bag of marijuana and 70 euros in cash. The man was arrested for illegal possession of narcotics.
In the afternoon, a second episode involved a man who, at the sight of the police in Piazza San Francesco a Capuana, tried to disappear towards Via Cesare Rosaroll. Blocked after a brief chase, he was found with 11 packages of cocaine, two bags of marijuana and 45 euros in cash. The 32-year-old, of Nigerian origin, illegal in the territory and with a police record, was arrested on the same charges.
The operations of the Naples Police Headquarters confirm the constant commitment of the police forces in the fight against drug trafficking and related crimes, in one of the most sensitive areas of the city.

I think these controls are important, but I don't know if they are enough to stop drug trafficking. The police do their job, but we need more support from the community to prevent these problems.
