An unusual incident occurred at a primary school in Udine, according to the Messaggero Veneto newspaper. A grandmother, picking up her grandson after school, inadvertently took another student with her. The misunderstanding may have been caused by the two children's similar clothing—both wearing a scarf and a hood.
The mistake discovered by a sports coach
The situation came to a head about 40 minutes later, when a sports coach noticed he had the wrong athlete with him. This prompted an immediate return to school with explanations. During this time, the search for the missing student had already begun at the elementary school, involving the Carabinieri. The child's father experienced moments of great anxiety when he couldn't find him when he left school.
