The annual celebration of the Feast of the Patronage of San Gennaro will take place on Monday, December 16, starting at 9.00:149 a.m., at the Chapel of the Treasure of San Gennaro, located in Via Duomo XNUMX. The ceremony will be presided over by the Abbot Prelate Monsignor Vincenzo De Gregorio and will include the traditional wish of the liquefaction of the blood of the Patron Saint.
The Deputation, the city body responsible for promoting the cult of San Gennaro and preserving his relics, will be present at the event. December 16th is one of three annual celebrations dedicated to the Holy Martyr, commemorating the eruption of Vesuvius in 1631, when, according to tradition, the blood of San Gennaro calmed the lava.

At the Royal Chapel of the Treasure of San Gennaro, the day will begin at 9:12.30 a.m. with the display of the shrine and Holy Mass presided over by Archbishop De Gregorio.
