A violent landslide hit the SS163 Amalfitana last night, about a kilometer from Cetara in a northerly direction, completely interrupting traffic. Dirt and rocks invaded the roadway, making transit impossible.
The Salerno Fire Department intervened promptly to verify the situation and secure the area. Anas and local authorities were also on site to coordinate the recovery operations.
Isolated coast: the only way is the Chiunzi Pass
Due to the event, Cetara and other locations in the Amalfi Coast are currently reachable only through the Valico di Chiunzi. The adverse weather conditions and the complexity of the debris removal operation make the reopening times of the road uncertain at the moment.

It's a very complicated situation, I hope the firefighters can restore traffic as soon as possible. The Amalfi Coast is a beautiful place but landslides can cause many problems for residents and tourists.
