The Palma Campania Carnival Foundation has officially appointed Francesco Cicchella as Artistic Director for the 2025 edition.
Cicchella, a well-known figure in the entertainment scene for his skills as an impersonator and showman, will be responsible for coordinating the events of the historic event, whose culminating moment will be Shrove Tuesday.
Event presentation and statements
The nomination ceremony took place at the municipal theater of Palma Campania. Among those present at the press conference, moderated by Angelo Martino, were the president of the Foundation, Nicola Montanino, the city councilor Nello Nunziata and the mayor of Palma Campania, Nello Donnarumma.
During the meeting, Cicchella expressed his satisfaction with the new assignment, underlining the importance of valorizing local traditions and giving greater visibility to the event.
"I am very happy to be able to give my contribution to this event. My choice is the result of two feelings that I have: first of all a strong parochialism, given that we have products that would be envied everywhere and that instead we struggle to valorize; on the other hand, belonging to a generation that is halfway between the past and the future, I want to highlight the traditions of our land, in which the Palma Campania Carnival certainly finds a significant and fundamental space. The goal is to work well to give the Palma Campania Carnival the right prestige and visibility".
Schedule of events
The program of celebrations begins on January 9, 2025 and includes a special event dedicated to Lega del Filo d'Oro and ENS of Naples, emphasizing themes of inclusion and solidarity. The 2025 edition of the Carnival promises to be particularly innovative, with a focus on the inventiveness and spectacularity of the Quadriglie, a characteristic element of the event.
