It is a hard blow that has been inflicted on the Comprehensive Institute “Moscati” in via Nuzzolo, in the Ferrovia district, where during the night between Saturday and Monday unknown individuals carried out a bold and well-planned theft. When the school opened yesterday morning, the staff found themselves faced with a desolate scene: the armored doors of two laboratory classrooms completely torn off and 64 computers vanished into thin air.

The thieves, after climbing over the iron fence, forced the entrance door of the institute and headed directly towards the classrooms protected by armored doors. Armed with crowbars and drills, the criminals managed to overcome the protection, taking away every device present. The remains of the broken doors remained scattered in the corridors, evidence of a violent and determined operation.
The Carabinieri of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of the Company intervened immediately on site. Benevento to carry out the first surveys. The police are now looking for clues useful for identifying those responsible, also through the possible analysis of the few cameras present in the area, which suffers from a chronic lack of video surveillance.
Huge Damage to the School
The school principal, Ernestina Cassese, and her staff are trying to precisely quantify the value of the stolen goods, which is expected to be significant. The computers, of various models, had been acquired partly in past years and partly recently. The school does not have an alarm system, which is why the solution of armored doors was chosen to protect the devices, a measure that unfortunately did not manage to stop the criminals.
