Maria Rosaria Campitiello, Head of the Department of Prevention, Research, and Health Emergencies at the Ministry of Health, reported that Lucca Hospital has informed the Istituto Superiore di Sanità (National Institute of Health) of the situation. Coordination is taking place in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health, in order to maintain careful and constant monitoring.
The Ministry is carrying out the necessary investigations and analyses of the samples taken, which will be examined by the Istituto Superiore della Sanità to determine the precise nature of the disease.
