The Second Edition of the Carlo Missaglia Award will be held on Tuesday 10 and Wednesday 11 December 2024 in two iconic locations in Naples: the Basilica of San Giacomo degli Spagnoli and the headquarters of the Industrial Union of Naples. The event is promoted by Progetto Itaca Napoli and the Missaglia Family.
A tribute to Neapolitan song
The first event, at the Church of San Giacomo degli Spagnoli, includes a round table dedicated to the figure of Carlo Missaglia, known for his commitment to promoting Neapolitan song. The debate will be led by important musical figures such as Pasquale Scialò and Francesca Seller. The evening will conclude with a performance by the Orchestra Sinfonica dei Quartieri Spagnoli.
Celebration of cultural contribution
The second event will take place on December 11 at the headquarters of the Unione degli Industriali di Napoli, in Piazza dei Martiri. During the event, personalities who have brought prestige to the Neapolitan cultural heritage will be awarded. The scientific committee will assign the Sculptures by Renzo Bighetti to Lina Sastri, Mario Martone and Salvatore De Pasquale, known as Depsa. The initiative is sponsored by several local organizations, including the Municipality of Naples and the Unione Industriali di Napoli, thus consolidating the importance of the Carlo Missaglia Award in the Neapolitan cultural panorama.

The event seems like a great opportunity to celebrate Neapolitan culture and traditions. I am curious to know more about the personalities who will be awarded and their impact on local music and art.
Yes, I am also interested in the winners. Neapolitan music is a heritage that deserves to be celebrated and enhanced, especially on occasions like this.
We hope that the event will attract a lot of attention and participation from the community. Culture is fundamental to our social and economic development.
