Cappuccio Collective Smooth are preparing to return to the music scene on December 13th with the release of three new songs and a smooth jazz reinterpretation of Earth, Wind & Fire's classic "September" on Spotify. The Campania-based collective, comprised of Mimmo Cappuccio, Annina Galiano, and Cristina Massaro, aims to rekindle younger generations' interest in the smooth jazz of the 1970s and '80s.
### The Soul of the Collective
The collective is determined to recreate the typical atmospheres of soft jazz of those years, trying to attract the attention of a young and curious audience. “On the occasion of Christmas, we thought of giving a gift to our listeners with the early release of these four songs,” said Mimmo Cappuccio. These pieces are part of a larger project that will culminate in an eight-track album scheduled for 2025.
### International Collaborations
Among the new tracks, the song “You Know Me Better” features the collaboration of Brazilian artist Nico Rezende and musicians Ramon Montagner and Tamir Case, with orchestrations by Francesco Oliviero. Annina Galiano, Cristina Massaro and Cappuccio himself sign the three unreleased tracks, while for the reinterpretation of “September” they use Eric Daniel’s sax and Thierry Bedoucha’s bass.
### Live Performances and Tours
The live debut of these new productions will take place on January 11, 2025 at Radio Zar Zak in Caserta, marking the beginning of next year's tour. The performance will feature guests such as Petra Magoni and Dario Deidda. Cappuccio Collective Smooth, already known for having opened Chiara Civello's concert at the Jazz in Campo Music Festival, continue to receive praise for their ability to innovate and contaminate with their smooth jazz style.
