A video that has gone viral shows a man clinging to the door of a fleeing car and being dragged across the asphalt for meters. A shocking image that has shaken the city of Parma.
Behind that action-movie scene lies a story of deception and courage. The man, an entrepreneur from Brescia, had just been robbed of €15.000 by two criminals who, after carrying out the robbery, attempted a desperate escape in a white Giulietta.
How did things go?
It all started with a phone call. A man pretended to be interested in purchasing a quantity of materials for the Brescian entrepreneur's company. The deal seemed promising, and the entrepreneur agreed to meet the seller in Parma.
Once he arrived at the meeting place, the entrepreneur found himself confronted by two men, seemingly kind and professional. But appearances can be deceiving. Using a trivial excuse, the two men asked the entrepreneur to show the money, claiming they needed to verify its authenticity.
In an instant, the situation escalated.

When the driver of the Giulietta began making dangerous maneuvers, the businessman, fearing he was armed, was forced to let go. The two robbers managed to escape, at least temporarily.
The hunt for the robbers
Thanks to numerous tips and surveillance camera images, the Carabinieri were able to identify the white Giulietta and track down the two perpetrators of the robbery. After an intensive investigation, the Carabinieri tracked down the two criminals in an apartment on Lake Garda, also recovering the stolen money. It's incredible how something like this can happen in broad daylight. I wonder if the businessman should have been careful before trusting someone with a business deal. The situation is really worrying.
