The Laceno d'Oro International Film Festival is preparing to celebrate its 49th edition. From December 1st to 8th, 2024, the event will offer audiences a rich program of screenings, discussions, and masterclasses. The event will culminate in a series of highly anticipated awards ceremonies.
### Awards and recognitions
On the evening of Saturday, December 7, the former Eliseo Cinema will host the presentation of the "Laceno d'Oro 49 Lifetime Achievement Award" to French director Arnaud Desplechin. The following day, the winners of the festival's three international competitions will be announced and awarded: "Laceno d'Oro 49," "Gli occhi sulla città," and "Spazio Campania," the latter awarded to director Chiara Rigione. The winners will receive cash prizes of €3.000, €1.500, and €1.000, as well as the Mefite statuette, a work by artist Gennaro Vallifuoco and a symbol of the province of Irpinia.

### Special Festival Awards
The "Red Couch Pictures Award" will be given to a work that has distinguished itself without official distribution; the award aims to support the film during its festival journey by improving its graphic design and communication. Furthermore, the Supercinema Award will be given to productions that excel in artistic direction, appreciating the intersection of cinema and design with a focus on visual innovation. The festival will conclude on December 8th at the former Cinema Eliseo, thanks to the support of organizations such as the Campania Region, the Campania Region Film Commission, and other cultural partners.

The Laceno d'Oro festival seems very interesting, but I don't know if I'll go. The awards are many and beautiful, especially the lifetime achievement award for Desplechin. I'm waiting to see the winners with great curiosity.
