Last Wednesday, during work in Montecorvino Rovella, workers came across a macabre discovery: a human skull and bone fragments. The alarm immediately mobilized the police.
Excluding the archaeological nature of the find, it is assumed that the remains belong to a person who disappeared in more recent times. Among the most accredited theories, that of a soldier missing during the Second World War.
The remains were seized and transported to Battipaglia for forensic examinations. DNA analysis will be essential to identify the victim and clarify the cause of death.
The investigation is ongoing, with the Carabinieri acquiring every useful element, from testimonies to historical research.
