An unmissable and free event is coming to Ischia, in Piazza degli Eroi: tomorrow, Saturday 28 December at 20.30 pm, Mario Biondi will bring his extraordinary energy to the Crooning Undercover project.
Planned and financed by the Region Campania (funds from the Campania Region and the Department for Youth Policies and Universal Civil Service, within the scope of the project initiatives referred to in the intervention sheet “Youth and Musical Culture”_DGR 193/2024) through Scabec, the concert is part of the series of events “Christmas in Ischia”, organized by the Municipality of Ischia in collaboration with Ischia Risorsa Mare and the DMO Ischia.
A wide range of events that combine tradition and entertainment for all ages, from Serena Brancale to the big New Year's Eve party with Decibel Bellini, as well as events including music, food and wine and tradition, which have accompanied Ischitani and tourists in the Christmas holidays.
After the success of the international tour with the Crooning Undercover project which exceeded 110 concerts around the world in the two-year period 2023-2024, Mario Biondi returns to perform in Campania with a special live show that will see the Sicilian crooner accompanied by a formation of 6 extraordinary musicians: Max Greco piano, David Florio percussion and guitars, Marco Scipioni sax, Fabio Buonarota trumpet, Enrico Santangelo drums, Max Laganà bass and double bass.
In this new event, Biondi will offer an elegant and essential show, immersing himself in a party atmosphere through his repertoire and the most famous hits.
Born in Catania in 1971, Mario Biondi (aka Mario Ranno) developed his passion for music since childhood listening to his father, the singer Stefano Biondi, before taking his surname to pay homage to him. The Japanese release of his single This Is What You Are marked a turning point, with the meeting with the famous BBC1 DJ Norman Jay who launched him on European radio.
In 2006 he released his first album, Handful of Soul, recorded with the High Five Quintet. After a double album with the Duke Orchestra entitled I Love You More and If that climbed the charts and went triple platinum, Biondi traveled thousands of kilometers with his orchestra of 15 musicians for a sold-out tour. The albums and prestigious collaborations followed one after the other and the singer achieved worldwide success, holding his first concert at the Royal Albert Hall in 2013 and participating in the most prestigious European and Italian jazz festivals.
With “Best of Soul” released in 2016, Mario Biondi celebrates his 10 years of activity by paying a powerful tribute to this musical genre. The artist with a vocal timbre that leaves its mark, with his deep and intense notes, honors through music his ties with the Italian authors-composers-performers of the 60s, but also those with the Brazilian bossa nova that have always inspired him.
On the occasion of tomorrow's concert, the Municipality of Ischia will make available to the public two free shuttles that will connect the former Guerra parking lot on the exSS270 with Piazza degli Eroi. Admission is free until all seats are taken.

It's a very interesting event, but I don't know if I can go. I should check the shuttle schedules because I don't want to miss the beginning of the concert. I hope there will be a lot of people for Mario Biondi.
