Threats, intimidation and references to organized crime. This is what emerges from the investigation of the Salerno District Anti-Mafia Directorate, which today led to the issuance of a precautionary custody order against a man, PM, accused of extortion aggravated by the mafia method.
According to investigators, the man allegedly used various social media profiles to make threats to the owner of a hotel in the Cilento and his family, evoking the use of firearms and explosive devices. Furthermore, the intimidations would have been accompanied by references to Calabrian criminal groups, exploiting a climate of subjugation and silence.
The measure was carried out by the Carabinieri of the Territorial Department of Vallo della Lucania, on the orders of the investigating judge of the Court of Salerno. According to the reconstruction of the investigators, the suspect would have repeatedly formulated threatening and extortionate expressions, also hitting the victim's family members through his intimidating messages on social media.
