A 77-year-old man died following a road accident that occurred on November 21 in via Adriano, Naples. The official announcement was made today at 15:30 p.m. by the Cardarelli hospital, where the man was hospitalized in intensive care.
The accident occurred at 9:XNUMX a.m., when the pedestrian was hit near a pedestrian crossing near the intersection with Via Catone. The specialized Road Accident unit of the Naples local police intervened at the scene of the accident and immediately began the necessary investigations.
The vehicle involved, a Fiat Punto, was identified and seized, while the driver underwent routine tests that gave negative results. The victim, transported to the nearest hospital, was declared in serious condition and admitted with a reserved prognosis.
Unfortunately, the efforts of the medical staff were not enough to save his life. Once informed of the death, the magistrate on duty ordered that the body remain at the disposal of the judicial authorities for further investigations.
With this tragic event, the road death toll in Naples for 2024 is 25: among these, 13 are pedestrians, nine are motorcycle drivers, two cyclists and one car passenger. These data were released by the Municipality.
