The Public Prosecutor's Office of Santa Maria Capua Vetere has opened an investigation into the death of Giuseppe Simione, 61, originally from San Nicola la Strada, who died Thursday evening while carrying out maintenance work in a hotel located on Viale Carlo III, in Caserta.
The tragedy occurred in the elevator area, where the man was struck by a sudden illness, which proved fatal. Despite the timely intervention of the police from the police station of Maddaloni, for Simione there was nothing that could be done.
By order of the judicial authorities, the body was seized and transferred to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Caserta, where it will undergo an autopsy. The forensic examinations will have to clarify whether death occurred due to natural causes or whether the illness was triggered by an effort related to work activities.
